Sunday Morning Chat with the Coach

Sunday, September 24, 2017 · Mike Davis

Good morning!

Hard to believe we are headed into the final week of September! October brings a lot of activity for NFLR, with directing of the Apple Harvest Day 5K, followed by our training group headed up north to run in the “White Mountain Milers” half marathon or relay. Both are great events to be involved in and display the depth of NFLR.

Over the past 5 years NFLR has become a staple in the Dover community and being involved with the Apple Harvest Day 5K is a natural fit. Our group of coaches have a lot of race experience, as well as desire to be active in the local community. Many years ago, I ran the AHD 5K for the first time, and it instantly became one of my favorite races. A challenging course, a wonderful local fair and a large contingent of local runners, all contribute to making this the perfect New England race. Teaming up with the Dover Chamber of Commerce, NFLR has help continue the tradition that will be celebrating its 15th year in 2018. If you are looking to volunteer or have a school aged child that needs to volunteer credit, please contact Deej@nofinishlinerunning.com. This is a lot fun to help with!

With our final month of preparation for the “White Mountain Milers Half Marathon,” we will move right into our winter training group. This group helps keep those running shoes active and motivated. Again, this year, this group will cost nothing, but will provide certified coach led runs twice a week and some cool prizes for those that accumulate points by participation. Be sure to check in at www.nofinishlinerunning.com for information on this opportunity and other running related stuff.

Time to get ready for church. Have a great day and happy fall!

God Bless!

Mike
