Really Awesome Week Ahead
Sunday, December 13, 2020 · Mike Davis
Good morning
With 13 days left before Christmas, the stress gets a little greater to wrap up my gift shopping. My goal is always to rely on the internet less and actually get out and Christmas shop, but again, I failed. Next Christmas for sure!
If you are looking to give someone a gift of fitness, check out some personal training packages we are offering, as well as some help for runners. Go to www.nofinshlinefitness.com for information.
*NFLF Holiday Challenge Part II*
As we approach the midpoint it is apparent our goal of encouraging people to workout during the challenging holiday season is working! A few have already surpassed the required effort points (MEPS) required and most are working their way there. The really cool thing is that even those who have already reached the goal, show no signs of letting up. Momentum is a great thing. Personally, I am enjoying trying to catch a few people in front of me and stay ahead of a couple behind me. Really been a fun challenge.
Here is our youngest member in the challenge. Wyeth Crowley trains twice a week and is an amazing young man. He was so proud of his sweatshirt!
If you did not get into this challenge, you will have opportunities in 2021. No matter your location, our challenges are great for everyone.
Exercise and Cancer
Previously, exercise was found to slow the progression of cancer. Now science has conclusive findings that help to confirm the importance of exercising while being treated for cancer. Obviously, we always need to consult with a doctor, but once again, exercise can make a difference in peoples lives. Check out the study.
*Different but the same*
One of our older clients (Ed) really likes how TRX Suspension has helped him become stronger and more functional. Through our time together we have discussed his girlfriend who lives a few hours away and is battling Parkinson’s disease. Eventually we discussed the value of strength training for those dealing with Parkinson’s and this led to his girlfriend confirming with her doctor that strength training would be beneficial. This conversation let to Ed coming up with a great idea.
Later this week Ed’s girlfriend is coming for a visit and he is going to surprise her with an early Christmas gift of the home TRX system. If all works according to plan, I am going to give Ed’s girlfriend a complimentary session using her TRX. It is all suppose to happen on Friday and let’s hope it comes off as we plan! Ed and I both hope it not only benefits her both physically, but mentally as well. Really cool!
Time to get along. Have a great Sunday and take some time to enjoy this most wonderful time of the year!
God Bless
Mike
